PROINSO delivers 145kW for two self-consumption solar PV projects in Namibia and South Africa

One of the projects will supply power to one of the main iron ore mines in South Africa, with an annual production of 10 million tonnes.

PROINSO supplied modules and inverters to both self-consumption solar PV projects located in the Assmang Khumani mine, in the Northern Cape province of South Africa, and the Namibian Development Corporation (NDC) in Windhoek.

The installations, 100kW and 45kW respectively, received Canadian Solar modules and SMA inverters from PROINSO.

These transactions strengthen PROINSO’s presence in Africa. The multinational has recently opened a new branch in South Africa and has as many as 18 African Qualified Installers in its International Network, with 2,372 installers already in all five continents.

PROINSO delivers 102kWp to the largest PV self-consumption facility in Sri Lanka

The project, connected already, is on the roof of Dilmah Tea, a leading tea company headquartered in the city of Peliyagoda, in the Western Province.

To date, it is the largest self-consumption solar PV installation on the island. It will generate about 150,000kWh/year.

PROINSO, which had not supplied products in this country before, had the support of one of its Qualified Installers: JLanka.

This is in line with PROINSO’s strategy, which aims at entering emerging markets. The multinational company had delivered PV products to Sri Lanka’s neighbouring country, India. Sri Lanka is moving towards renewable energy to reduce the country’s dependence on fossil fuels, which are 100% imported.
