PROINSO to showcase latest products at PV JAPAN 2015
In its own stand #P1-305, PROINSO will show the Japanese market the PV products from leading brands it distributes to around the world.
PROINSO is set to expand its presence in Japan. The Japanese market is expected to be one of the top three leading markets in 2015 with a 4GW solar energy production target.
PROINSO has already introduced its affiliated company product of Mecasolar structures to Japan and will be showcasing the OXIS Solar energy storage solutions to the Japanese market.
Mark Randall, PROINSO CEO, said, " Japan has some shared and one distinct driver for PV. For Proinso it's important to recognise these in our continued focus in anticipating the solutions that will best match, and assist in evolving, the market. Our offering in Japan continues to show evidence of global lessons applied to local market growth."
Makoto Ijuin, PROINSO Japan MD, said, “Since 2012 when Japanese government has put very profitable FIT and tax offset incentives, 17GW of PV has been installed in last 3 years. Yet 57.5GW worth of FIT rights are still yet to be built and we predict good portion of these will be built in the next 3 years but not all. Residential market <10kw systems will have the big demand for the future even after the commercial boom. By 2030, Japanese government is targeting 22-24% on renewable energy. PROINSO will target such commercial sectors and smaller commercial and residential sectors in the coming years starting with PROINSO online shop launching at the time of PV Japan Expo.”

PROINSO and OXIS Solar Centre for Autonomous Research Launched Project Helios
PROINSO and The OXIS Solar Centre for Autonomous Research (OSCAR) launched Project Helios as a launch-pad for cost effective and safe solar energy storage across the world. OSCAR is a specially built demonstration centre that houses OXIS’ entire solar storage technology.
The Project Helios demonstration comprises a 3.8 kWp solar Photovoltaic (PV) power generation system with Proinso integrated solution and 3 kWh OXIS Lithium battery.
The mains output from the is used to power both the charger for the driverless vehicle, the Meridian Navya and the OXIS Lithium Sulfur battery storing the unused excess energy generated during daylight for use after dark.
The system can easily be configured for grid connected operation where the battery is used to increase self-consumption.
The single 48V 3 kWh OXIS Lithium sulphur battery, shown in this demonstration, can be expanded to a total of four batteries, stacked and connected in parallel, providing a total storage capacity of 12 kWh, suitable for most domestic installations in Europe. For larger systems, where a more complex arrangement is needed, the 19” Rack Mount Batteries is recommended, and this will be available later this year.
PROINSO Head of Asia Pacific and Storage, Stuart Macfarlane, added: “The realization of the OXIS storage solution is perfectly timed as we continue to move into emerging markets that have a high demand for safe, reliable and cost-effective energy storage solutions. Importantly, the technology is robust and easily scalable which is crucial for use across a wide range of applications and in frequently hostile environments. PROINSO is constantly looking for that next innovation which will enable us to continue to deliver technically sophisticated solutions that showcase the best the industry can offer. Working with companies like OXIS in the development of new technologies is the foundation of this ongoing process.”
The CEO of OXIS Energy, Huw Hampson-Jonessays “The significance of this technology is at this stage understated. In the continent of Africa for example, this is a breakthrough as profound as the introduction of the mobile phone and allows for the rapid commercialization of their economies using solar energy storage systems. For Europe this technology brings a safe and cheap source of electricity for its citizens in a manner that allows its economies to lessen their dependency on oil and gas.”
