FAQ
Do all the products have a rapid shutdown function?
Yes. Our Optimizers/Monitoring products also have the rapid shutdown function and are compliant with the Thai regulations.
Does my inverter need to be placed on the roof when used with Tigo products to comply with the Thai regulations?
No. Tigo complies with NEC690.12(B)(2)(2) and is UL1741 certified. This means the inverter used together with Tigo does not need to be inside the array (some systems that are UL3741 certified require the inverter to be placed within 1 foot of the array).
Do Tigo products use PLC? I’m concerned about cross-talk issues?
- F and -2F (Rapid Shutdown) use PLC, but Tigo’s patented Pure Signal Technology negates cross-talk issues.
- O and -S are wireless, so there are no cross-talk issues whatsoever.
Can I use any of Tigo products with any inverter brand of my choice?
Yes, all of Tigo’s products are compatible with the majority of major inverter brands using MPPT.
My inverters’ life span is 10 years, and Tigo products warranty is 25 years; if I want to change my inverter brand after 10 years, do I need to change the Tigo Optimizer/RSD to match the new inverter?
Tigo’s products are compatible with the majority of major inverter brands using MPPT, so it is most likely compatible with your new inverter.
Does it require additional cables? I’m concerned about the hidden costs.
No additional cabling required. Power source for the MLPE device is generated by the solar panels.
I am a developer with many projects. How can I manage all those projects?
TIgo offers the Tigo Fleet Management application, which makes monitoring multiple projects easy. Tigo offers training on the use of this system, please contact us for more details.
I have a solar farm, do you have any products that can help me monitor the electricity generation?
We have the –M series that can help monitory the energy generation on a modular level (no RSD function)
