The Solar Project with Silk Grass Farms is a real example of the commitment to farming practices that restore our relationship with nature, regenerate the soil, heal the land, and reverse climate change.

Silk Grass Farms is a vertically integrated agribusiness in Southern Belize, committed to creating positive environmental and social impact by reimagining how food is grown and processed.

To minimize the carbon footprint of their 130,000 square-foot food-processing and food storage facility, and support their commitment to achieving carbon neutrality, PROINSO Group in partnership with the Alternative Energy Development Group, a USA-based Company, Alternativas Energeticas Renovables (AER) Guatemala Base Company, respectively, developed and supplied this beautiful and inspiring project located in Belize.

Together, we have installed a large-scale (2MW DC/1.5MW AC) solar project to provide power to their processing facility and designed to power 75% to 80% of their operational activities.

PROINSO Group supplied the solar components installed in the Sill Grass Farm factory, increasing the business’s sustainability by allowing the company group to use renewable energy as a power source with a 2MW solar project.

–Completion date & commission date: December 2023.

–Total size: Approx. 4.5 acres

–With an estimated annual KWH: 3,189,320

–Inverters & Modules used: 14 SMA solar inverters HighPower Peak 3-US, SHP125-US-20 and 3,528 Trina Solar Vertex Bifacial Dual Glass Monocrystalline 580-watt modules.

Silk Grass Farms Co-Founders believe the natural abundance of Belize can be a driver of economic sustainability and prosperity for their nation.
