PROINSO and HECSY Power Sustainable Agriculture in Ohio, USA with Advanced Solar Technology at The Chef’s Garden

Windsor, United Kingdom – June 16, 2025: PROINSO is proud to support a landmark renewable energy initiative in Ohio, United States, by supplying premium solar technology to a project at The Chef’s Garden, a nationally renowned specialty farm dedicated to regenerative agriculture and environmental responsibility.

Facing increased energy demands due to the expansion of new high-tech greenhouses, The Chef’s Garden partnered with Highpoint Energy Control Systems LLC (HECSY) to implement a comprehensive renewable energy solution. To meet these demands, PROINSO supplied 2,456 high-efficiency 540W solar modules and SMA America inverters, ensuring optimal performance and energy reliability.

The 1.1 MW solar installation, located in Huron, Ohio, is projected to offset 60% to 90% of the farm’s annual electricity needs. Commissioning is set for July 4, 2025, but early results already show a 65% offset in energy usage and a 42% reduction in carbon emissions, exceeding original sustainability targets.

This project goes beyond standard solar. Thanks to HECSY’s cutting-edge integration of zero-export functionality, peak-shaving software, and a SCADA-enabled energy management platform, the system offers full remote monitoring, real-time control, and true energy independence.

With support from state and federal organizations—including the Ohio Department of Development, JobsOhio, and the USDA—this project demonstrates how clean energy and smart technology can transform agriculture in the U.S.
