The award‑winning 2.16 MWp solar rooftop project is located in Carmelray Industrial Park I, Calamba, Laguna, Philippines. The system was constructed by SOLAREN Renewable Energy Solutions Corporation, a local EPC, in partnership with PROINSO’s Engineering, Procurement and Management division. Scheduled for commissioning in October 2019, this installation represents one of the largest industrial rooftop solar energy systems of its kind in the Philippines.

The client, a well‑known name in the food industry, selected this solar PV system for self‑consumption to optimize energy costs and significantly reduce its carbon footprint. The decision also aligned with long‑term sustainability considerations, including future increases in energy demand for heating, climate control, electricity and mobility.

This project stands out for the strong environmental and socially responsible approach demonstrated by both PROINSO and SOLAREN. For maximum system performance and reduced operational expenses, the contractors selected SMA Sunny Tripower 60 and SMA Sunny Tripower 25000TL inverters from SMA’s commercial portfolio. As one of the most critical components of any solar plant, inverters ensure the efficient conversion and delivery of solar energy to the grid. SMA technology was chosen for its proven operational reliability, innovative features and industry‑leading warranty standards.

In partnership with SOLAREN, we have completed a cutting‑edge project with modular structure through SMA’s cross‑sector platform for intelligent energy management – ennexOS. Energy costs can be significantly reduced by interlinking various energy sectors, such as heating, climate control, electricity and mobility. With open protocols, the system is flexible, allowing the client to become a ‘prosumer’ and benefit from independent energy management.”
